Operations Manager

Position Overview
The Operations Manager will oversee the day-to-day show events activities from the Boston Office, ensuring they are managed efficiently and effectively. This position is a functional manager with no direct reports and reports to the Managing Director of the Boston office.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Ensures technical staff delivers expected level of quality, organization, and interaction with clients
- Assigns technicians and warehouse staff to pull/prep/pack shows
- Establishes quantitative and qualitative metrics, guidelines, and standards by which the company’s efficiency and effectiveness can be evaluated; identifies opportunities for improvement
- Implements policies and procedures that will improve day-to-day operations
- Ensures work environments are adequate and safe
- Works closely with the team of Technical Producers to ensure timely communication with show leads
- Communicates and explains new directives, policies, or procedures to the entire Boston-based team
- Explores methods, policies, and procedures to maximize profits
- Performs other related duties as assigned
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Superior verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
- Superior functional managerial and diplomacy skills
- Assists in policies and procedures to maximize use of the organization’s operating software
- Extremely proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills
Education and Experience:
- 3-years of experience in technical event production as an A/V Technician, Technical Director, or Stage Manager role
- Experience with IntelliEvent Lightning a plus
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Must be able to lift up to 49 pounds at times
- Must be able to work early mornings, late evenings, and weekends when required
