Boston May Wu’s Special Party: A Night of Community, Celebration, and Possibility
Boston May Wu’s Special Party brought the city together in a joyful celebration that honored Mayor Michelle Wu’s historic leadership and the spirit of Boston. Originally planned for November 2021, the event was postponed due to COVID-19 restrictions and became an unforgettable gathering when it finally came to life on City Hall Plaza.
More than 1,000 guests filled a grand tent on the plaza’s brick expanse, surrounded by shimmering disco balls arranged above the audience to form a sparkling art installation. The stage glowed in Mayor Wu’s signature purple with signage reading “All Aboard” and “Celebrating Boston’s Possibility,” setting the tone for a night focused on unity, progress, and shared optimism for the city’s future.
AVFX Support for a Meaningful Milestone
Rafanelli Events engaged AVFX to bring the technical vision of the evening to life. To ensure every attendee stayed connected to the celebration, LED video walls were positioned on each side of the stage. The AVFX team called the show, stage-managed, provided camera coverage, and handled video playback for a seamless audience experience.
AVFX Producer Ed Harrison led the production, guiding the flow of the evening and supporting a program designed to honor the moment and the people who make Boston remarkable.
A Moment of Pride for the City
Contributing to such an important milestone for Mayor Wu and the City of Boston was both an honor and a privilege. The evening celebrated more than a ceremonial milestone. It reflected Boston’s resilience, creativity, and belief in what is possible when a community comes together.
